Even in this mess, He is still God! We hear the rhetoric, the gossip, the speculations concerning why COVID-19, why pain and suffering, why death and destruction, why, why, why? Some even ask the question, “Why is GOD allowing this to occur?”
Well, let’s see. Paul speaks about these last days and what we should expect. “This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God; Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.” 2 Timothy 3:1-5
There is no doubt that what we are experiencing now was prophesied long before now. We are warned to prepare ourselves for such. This preparation comes from knowing the Word of God so we are not deceived during these times.
Verse 12 of the same chapter tells us, “Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution.” None are exempt from suffering or persecution; it comes with the territory. If Jesus had to suffer, what about us?
Jesus spoke profoundly when He said, “These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.” John 16:33
There is no need to worry about the chaos, confusion and turmoil going on, we are covered by the blood of Jesus. We know that God is a hedge of protection around us and that no danger will befall us. Our salvation is sealed in Christ Jesus until the day of redemption.
